Partnership SAS - B.USOC

For the preparation and execution of ISS payload operations, B.USOC works together with Space Applications Services with an integrated team of operations engineers, operators and ground controllers.

B.USOC hosts the control room and infrastructure, and provides support to the scientists that have their experiment flying on the Space Station, or intend to do so.

This support entails providing information and help in the preparation of their proposal to ESA, but also allowing the scientists to access ground models of the payloads, to prepare their experiments. To support this function, B.USOC has its own laboratory infrastructure at the disposal of the scientists.

Space Applications Services is a private space company located in Zaventem, and is leading the design and implementation of the infrastructure for International Space Station payload operations from B.USOC.

During space missions, like the PromISS-4 mission, Space Applications Services also provides extra ground operators to complement the B.USOC team. The ground operators are responsible for monitoring and commanding the payload from ground, and for distributing the experiment data to the scientists.
